DASD Performance

Average response times greater than 23 Ms. for a 3390 environment are flags for performance problems.  However, when a large percentage of the time is ‘connect’, this simply indicates that data is probably being accessed using Prefetch.  Large disconnect values usually indicate datasets with multiple extents.
