I/O performance
A summarization of the buffer pool activity for a 12 hour period shows major performance problems. Simply multiplying the number of I/Os for pool times the avg. time for that pool and adding this all together shows 7.5 hours of I/O wait time during this 12 hour period.
Just taking this as a gross number implies that applications have close to 75% of their elapsed time as I/O wait.
Perhaps there are some tuning opportunities here…. ?
